John Piper on the Prosperity Gospel

I know it must seem like I have no thoughts of my own recently, but Piper says this so well. This is something I have wrestled with lately and still do. Jesus said so much about wealth, but it was never about acquiring it, and always about giving it up. May we be people who are not affected by wealth, but are willing to sacrifice for the sake of the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

  2. You know I am with him until he starts talking about being happy when your kid is flying through the dashboard of your car and is dead in the middle of the road. Then I think he is a jerk.

This is the way I feel about many Christian leaders at points. I am with them for the ride until they decide they want to drive their theological point off the cliff and crash it in the canyon below.

  3. I agree with you Clint. Way too graphic just to prove a point. I am glad people are finally standing up against this pollution of the gospel though.
